Business Plan in Brief
What?
Funds are needed to expand Marie Liberna’s clothing store, Na Nou Love Clothing Shop.
When?
She has been in business since 2014.
Where?
The business is currently located in her home town, Ganthier, Haiti.
Why?
The closest clothing shop for the people in her town is in Port-au-Prince, which is not easily accessible for many people. She wanted to provide a closer and more accessible clothing shop for her town because she herself used to struggle with getting to Port au Prince to buy clothes that she needed for herself and her family.
How?
She has been running the shop out of her house. She has one employee she pays to help her arrange, sell, and keep track of the clothes she buys and sells. She buys the clothes from a supplier in Port-au-Prince and then transports them to her house in Ganthier.
Needs
She needs money to keep buying the clothes she sells. She uses some of her profit to buy more clothes to sell, but she also has to pay for books for her schooling as well as for her own needs like clothes, food, etc.
Wants
She needs funding to buy a building that is further in town; her house is on the outside of town, and she wants the shop to be as centrally located as possible for her customers. She is also interested in donations of clothes so that she wouldn’t have to buy all her clothes from Port-au-Prince.

University Student Testimonial: Why I Believe in Marie’s Business
“During my trips to Haiti, I’ve noticed and heard about the difficulty that some people have in getting in to Port-au-Prince to get items they need: items like food, clothes, animals, etc. Many Haitians in the area around Port-au-Prince have to walk long distances or use precious gas to go into the city to go to market to buy what they need and sell what they’ve made. I believe that Marie Liberna’s idea of putting a clothing shop in her town would save her community a trip to Port-au-Prince and enable them to have a better quality of life. I believe the people in her community could worry more about other important issues like food and water if they did not have to worry about going into Port-au-Prince to get clothes.
“I also feel that Marie Liberna is the perfect person to meet this need in her community. Within the first few minutes of listening to her talk about her hopes and dreams for her business, it was clear to me that she cares deeply about the people in her community and is passionate about clothes and fashion. She said she has had this dream since she was a little girl, and the sincerity in her voice coupled with her enthusiasm for her business caused me to immediately believe she could make her dream a reality.”
